MECANISMOS MOLECULARES:

Microarray Technology
The scientific principle underlying microarray technology is complementary hybridization between nucleic acids [3,4]. All gene expression DNA microarrays can be understood as highthroughput 'dot-blot' systems, where pieces of known DNA are anchored to a solid support, while targets are fluorescently labeled, free-floating 44 amplified RNA or complementary DNA (cDNA) species originating from the samples [5]. When the labeled sample is hybridized to the DNA microarray, each probe binds its complementary target. Analyzing the microarray with highresolution fluorescent scanners allows assessment of the fluorescent signal strength that originates from the probe-bound target. This signal is presumed to be directly proportional to the abundance of the RNA species present in the investigated samples. BIBLIOGRAFÍA:
